Experience
Michael is a partner in Citrin Cooperman’s Risk Advisory Practice. With more than 25 years of experience in public accounting and consulting, Mike’s focus is on advisory, internal, and external audit, business and technology risk, compliance, and cybersecurity consulting for public and private companies.
Mike is an internal control specialist, focused on helping companies evaluate risk and the adequacy of their financial, operational, IT and cybersecurity controls. His expertise is concentrated in serving a variety of niches such as manufacturing, service, distribution, technology, insurance, media, and telecommunications. He has guided clients ranging from small family-owned organizations to multinational public companies through the nuances of regulatory or industry-based standards. He has extensive experience with SOX 404 and internal control frameworks.
Previously, Mike was an audit partner at LGC+D, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2016. At LGC+D, he led the firm’s Corporate Solutions Group. Prior to LGC+D, Mike served eight years as an audit manager at a Big Four accounting firm, where he was responsible for managing the audits of domestic and multinational public and private companies, as well as serving as a local and national facilitator for the firm.

Community Involvement
Mike is an active member of the Washington County Fair Committee, an organization responsible for running Rhode Island’s largest agricultural fair with over 110,000 attendees during its five-day run each year. As the entertainment chairman, he is responsible for the fair’s entertainment, advertising, and website. Mike is also the treasurer for the Exeter-West Greenwich Little League program and coaches in the Exeter-West Greenwich Youth Basketball association. In addition, he is a volunteer for the RI 4-H Club Foundation and the Southern Rhode Island 4-H Club, running the kitchen for three days at the annual fair.
Outside The Office
Mike was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Illinois and relocated to Rhode Island in 2004. He lives in Exeter, RI with his wife Susanna and their three sons. He is a sports fanatic and a die-hard fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Mike is also a member of the Washinton County Fair Committee and is responsible for booking all entertainment for the Fair which welcomes over 100,000 patrons over five days every August. When not involved with his family or the Fair, Mike has a deep passion for music, including playing the guitar and songwriting.
