Bernadette Schopfer is a partner in the firm’s Tax Practice and is based out of the White Plains office. With more than 30 years of tax and accounting experience, she specializes in income tax planning, income tax return preparation, business and personal financial planning, business succession and retirement planning, estate and gift tax planning, tax conflict resolution, and eldercare.
Bernadete stays on top of nuanced tax codes, understanding the increasing complexity of tax laws and how their requirements impact each client's business or personal situation to help assess their obligations and file returns with maximum savings.
Previously, Bernadette was a partner and the director of taxation at Maier Markey & Justic LLP, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2024. Prior to joining Maier Markey & Justic LLP, she spent six years at a Big Four accounting firm, where she was promoted to tax manager.
