Jonathen Scalzitti is a partner with over 20 years of experience providing accounting, auditing, and tax services to both commercial and residential real estate owners, operators, investors, and developers as well as REITs. Working closely with clients, Jon analyzes the tax and financial impact of transactions and recommends various treatments and techniques to achieve the most effective results.

His experience extends to areas that include:

• Provide income tax basis and GAAP auditing, financial reporting, accounting and consulting services to privately held real estate companies and other closely-held businesses.
• Calculating and analyzing the tax consequences of potential sales and purchases of real estate, as well as various types of debt restructuring and like-kind exchanges
• Determining the tax implications of analyzing operating expenses and real estate tax escalations to isolate any miscalculations, ambiguities, or questionable areas
• Performing tax projections and planning

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Jon was a partner at Berdon LLP which joined the firm in 2023.
