Experience

Kathy Garlow is a partner in the firm’s Chicago, IL office, specializing in income tax, estate, and gift tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and their families.

Kathy has extensive experience providing consulting and tax expertise, advising families on their personal income tax returns as well as investment partnerships and LLCs, trusts, estates, and private foundations. With a designation as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, she consults families on wealth transfers between generations as well as charitable giving. Kathy has worked on estate tax returns, funding testamentary trusts, and planning for related income taxes. She patiently and thoroughly explains the process with the surviving spouse and/or family.

Previously, Kathy was a tax partner at Shepard Schwartz & Harris LLP, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2022.
