Experience

Kenneth Kirkland is the firm’s Chief Growth Officer and is a member of the Board of Directors. He leads Citrin Cooperman’s organic growth strategy, including business development, sales, marketing, and oversight of its industry verticals. Ken has over 40 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in tax services and the design and implementation of acquisition strategies. He consults extensively with business owners, using a hands-on approach to navigate their strategic challenges and succession plans.

Ken started his career with the Internal Revenue Service, which gave him a unique understanding of the tax code and representation in front of the IRS. He frequently applies this experience and knowledge to help protect the firm’s clients through proactive tax strategies. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, negotiations, consulting for business owners, strategic tax planning, C-suite hiring, crisis management, change management, business development, team leadership, and training and mentoring.

Previously, Ken was a founding member and the managing partner at KAF, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2016.
