Experience

Maria Lopez is a director in the firm’s Coral Gables, Florida office with over 25 years of diversified income tax experience. She is responsible for a variety of clients and engagements focused on income tax planning and income tax compliance for professional services companies and other industries in South Florida, including real estate and retail.

Maria has experience overseeing large engagements in the areas of corporate taxation and passthrough entities, s corporations, and partnerships. Her clients range from entrepreneurs to large multistate companies. Maria’s experience also includes tax process improvement and provision for income taxes for audited financial statements. She provides consulting and income tax planning to organizations to lower their income tax rates.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Maria was a director and senior manager, leading the tax and accounting services department of a South Florida CPA firm and at a Big Four accounting firm respectively. She has also worked in Miami, Chicago, and New York City.
