Michael Criscione is an audit partner in Citrin Cooperman’s Providence, Rhode Island office and a co-leader of the firm's Healthcare Industry Practice with more than 35 years of public accounting experience.  Previously, Michael was an audit partner at LGC+D, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2016. At LGC+D, he was the leader of the firm’s Health Services segment, which served health care and not-for-profit clients.

Michael specializes in audit and business advisory solutions for healthcare entities such as home health agencies, hospices, long-term care and assisted living facilities, community health centers, and health and human service providers. He has over 30 years of Medicare/Medicaid experience, including assistance with the preparation of third-party cost reports, benchmarking reports, and financial analysis.

Michael works extensively with owners, operators, and boards of directors regarding the financial aspects of their businesses, including third-party reimbursement, appeals for rate adjustments, compliance-related matters, operating budgets, development of reimbursement strategies and systems, and negotiations/discussions with federal and state agencies.
