Experience

Bob is a partner in Citrin Cooperman’s National Tax Office and is the firm’s Federal Credits & Incentives Leader. Bob has been specializing in R&D for the past 20 years with extensive experience leading R&D Credit Studies, assisting clients with IRS and state audits and controversy related to R&D Credits, reviewing R&D Credits for financial statement and ASC 740 purposes, identifying and documenting uncertain tax positions, and assisting clients with the new Sec. 174 R&D expense capitalization requirements.

Bob has a broad-based tax background that has spanned over 30 years. Prior to specializing in R&D, Bob was a corporate tax generalist focused on tax compliance, tax consulting, and tax provisions. Bob has worked with privately and publicly held companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 across all industries, including significant experience in the technology (life science, hardware, software, semiconductor), manufacturing (industrial products, equipment, consumer products, food and beverage), finance (insurance, asset management, banking), and construction and engineering industries. Bob has spent most of his career working with middle market clients.

Prior to Citrin Cooperman, Bob was a partner at a Big Four firm for 15 years where he led the Northeast R&D Tax Credit Practice.
