In Memory of Our Friend and Partner Mel Feldman
The partners and professionals of Citrin Cooperman are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our dear friend and former partner, Mel Feldman. Mel joined Citrin Cooperman in 1983, just four years after the firm’s founding. He remained a partner of the firm until his retirement in 1997. During his tenure, Mel was considered to be a pillar of the firm, serving as mentor to many still at Citrin Cooperman today. With his progressive approach, Mel ran a tight but fair ship with his staff, earning him respect and reverence from the many whose lives and careers he influenced.
Mel would have celebrated his 96th birthday on Thanksgiving Day of this year, but instead, passed away on the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah. In the Jewish tradition, those who pass on Rosh Hashanah are considered ‘tzadik,’ or the most spiritually righteous. For those of us who knew Mel, we will always be grateful for all he shared and taught us and will continue to carry his tenets of teamwork and teaching throughout our work with our teams, clients, and communities.
