Experience

Laura Bertagnolli is a director in Citrin Cooperman’s Business Process Outsourcing Practice and is based out of the firm’s Carlsbad, CA office. She is a CPA with over 30 years of professional leadership experience, 11 of which are in the not-for-profit sector. Laura provides a wide variety of accounting and consulting services to private clients specializing in the not-for-profit industry. Laura consults on general accounting, leadership development, organizational strategy, board engagement, budgeting and forecasting, cashflow management, and technology and process improvements.

Previously, Laura worked as a consulting chief financial officer (CFO) servicing client accounts in multiple sectors with a focus on not-for-profit engagements at Signature Analytics, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2024. She has been an engagement lead responsible for client success and served in the outsourced CFO role as a member of the senior leadership team collaborating across functions with operations, programs, and development.

Prior to Signature Analytics, Laura worked internally as CFO at the largest youth theater organization in the country. In that role, she provided financial, operational, and human resources guidance to 31 branches across the country, communicated branch financial health to the board of directors and negotiated annual license agreements. She led the San Diego, CA branch and managed all aspects of accounting, finance, and human resources.

Laura’s prior roles include working in a variety of industries, including biotech and energy, as well as her public accounting experience in the Houston, TX office of a global public accounting firm.
