Experience

Preeti P. Baliga is an audit partner with nearly two decades of experience in public accounting. Preeti specializes in audits of government-assisted and subsidized housing and is adept in the requirements and regulations of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR), the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (NYCHPD), and the New York City Housing Development Corporation (NYCHDC). Working with nonprofit and for-profit entities, she conducts audits, including Uniform Guidance audits and cost certifications for government-subsidized housing projects, nursing homes, and low-income housing tax credit projects.

Preeti has particular expertise in managing audit teams for projects receiving federal and state subsidies, advising for-profit and nonprofit clients on compliance requirements, and auditing, reviewing, and preparing tax returns in conjunction with syndicated real estate partnerships.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Preeti was an audit partner at Berdon LLP, which joined the firm in 2023.
