Smit Shah is an audit partner with over 15 years of experience. Smit specializes in guiding clients throughout the hospitality and real estate industries—providing an array of audit, accounting, and tax services to prominent hotels, restaurants and real estate owners. His broad experience extends to providing GAAP and income tax basis audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements for hotels, restaurants, and real estate owners, preparing special purpose financial statements, and reviewing clients’ policies and procedures to advise on ways to improve internal controls.

Smit advises his clients on New York City hotel occupancy tax and New York State sales tax provisions and prepares and reviews tax returns for hotels, restaurants, and real estate owners.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Smit was an audit partner at Berdon LLP, which joined the firm in 2023.
