Experience

John is a director in the firm’s Professional Standards Group, with over 25 years of experience in public accounting. John works within the firm’s Audit and Attest Practice to ensure quality and compliance with the professional standards for audits, reviews, and compilations engagements. He specializes in providing accounting, audit, and consulting services to clients across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, private schools and foundations, not-for-profits, real estate, professional groups, and employee benefit plans.

John’s responsibilities within the firm include planning, directing, and performing technical reviews of audit and accounting engagements, as well as ensuring that all engagements comply with the firm’s quality control policies and procedures. John has extensive experience in training, supervising, and mentoring staff. John has also managed and organized peer reviews for prior firms and participates in the firm’s internal inspections.

Before joining Citrin Cooperman, John was a senior manager at Gettry Marcus CPA LLC, which joined the firm in 2023. John’s prior experience also included him being promoted to partner at both a regional and local CPA firm.
