Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Bonnie was an audit partner at Berdon, LLP, which joined the firm in 2023. Prior to Berdon, Bonnie spent a year as the partner-in-charge of Quality Control at another New York-based CPA firm, where she led the team in performing engagement quality reviews, providing technical guidance and training, establishing firmwide policies and procedures, and publishing thought leadership. In addition, she spent 14 years on the Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) and Financial Services Teams at the U.S. arm of a global accounting firm. While in this role, Bonnie served clients reporting under U.S. GAAP and IFRS in a number of industries—including domestic and international publicly traded and privately held companies, international banks, registered investment advisors, investment companies, broker/dealers, and digital assets—and also served as the representative on six CAQ Task Forces as well as the Q&RM Lead for the Long Island market, where she was responsible for performing engagement quality control reviews, providing technical guidance globally, authoring comment letters to standard setting bodies, developing and delivering worldwide training programs, and performing internal inspections domestically and internationally.
Outside of her time in public accounting, Bonnie was able to gain a unique perspective on internal and external reporting by spending three years at a Fortune 500 financial institution providing analyses and information to upper levels of management, the board of directors, the audit committee, and the company’s auditors. This perspective was enhanced and complemented by her experience serving as the chief financial officer to a registered investment advisor and working as a consultant.
